Allison Adachi, DDS. Dentist
Dr. Alison Adachi provides dental care to patients of all ages. She received her dental degree from the University of California at San Francisco, and came to RFHC during her Lutheran Medical-UCSF dental residency, earning her certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Dr. Adachi worked in private practice, and returned to RFHC in 2013. She enjoys working in community health, and has a particular interest in oral health education, fixed prosthodontics, and oral surgery. She is a participant in the Spear Study Club, and attends many continuing education courses throughout the year.
Zahra Ezzy, DDS. Dentist
After graduating from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Dr. Ezzy moved on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of University of Southern California in 2013. She has extensive experience in implant placement and restoration, cosmetic dentistry, molar endodontic treatment, and removable prosthetics. Dr. Ezzy has volunteered in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles, Iran, and the Dominican Republic using her skills to address the oral health needs of individuals.
Peter Kawamura, DDS. Dentist
Dr. Kawamura graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCSF’s School of Dentistry in 1982. He completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wisconsin, and completed his Residency in Prosthodontics at UCSF’s School of Dentistry. Dr. Kawamura has worked in several private dental practices throughout California and Hawaii, and has been a mentor to the next generation of dentists as a lecturer, university faculty member, and as Director of General Practice Residency in Dentistry at the Veteran Affairs Dental Services in San Francisco. He has published two articles on geriatric dental care: Geriatric Dentistry, Caring for Our Aging Population (2014) and Hall’s Critical Decisions in Periodontology and Dental Implantology. 5th ed. (2013).
Sailaja Nalamati, DDS. Dentist
Dr. Nalamati began her career as a Dental Surgeon Intern at Mennakshi Ammal Dental College in Chennai, India. She went on to become an Assistant Dental Surgeon, and worked in India for a number of years before moving to the United States and obtaining her California Dental License. Dr. Nalamati practiced dentistry with private groups including Shoker Dental and Western Dental Services, and with other dentists in California, before joining our staff at Ravenswood Family Dentistry. She is also certified to work with Radiology.
Ben Robinson, DDS. Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Robinson completed dental school at the University of the Pacific in 2016, and finished his Pediatric Dental Residency at NYU Langone in 2018, where he served as chief resident. As a local high school grad (GO BEARS!!) and longtime Menlo Park resident, he is happy to be back in his home community. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Erin Shah, DDS. Pediatric Dentist
After graduating from Columbia College of Chicago with a BA in Business Management, Dr. Erin Shah earned her DDS degree at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2014. She completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in June 2017, and also earned an MS degree in Oral Sciences. Upon graduation, she served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry with a focus on clinical examination, infection control, and advanced composite techniques. Prior to coming to Ravenswood, Dr. Shah worked in San Francisco, at the clinic of Cynthia K. Brattesani, DDS, and at Dental Power. Dr. Shah also worked at the Marin Community Clinic and Marin County Dental Clinics, where she conducted procedures such as dental prophylaxis, fillings, extractions, pulpotomies and crowns for pediatric and special needs patients. She also worked as an on-call Dentist at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland in 2015.
Macario “Mac” Soliman, DDS. Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Soliman completed his DDS degree at the University of California at San Francisco in 2007, and finished his Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of California at Los Angeles in 2010. He is very passionate about Pediatric Oral Health, and likes to remind all of his patients to brush with toothpaste and floss every day to stop cavities! In his spare time, he enjoys motorsports and spending time with his family.
Yogita Butani Thakur, DDS, MS. Chief Dental Officer
Dr. Yogita Thakur trained as a dentist in India at the VYWS Dental College and Hospital (1991-1996). She received her Masters of Science in Dental Public Health at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She then completed a fellowship at UCSF School of Dentistry’s Centers to Address Disparities in Oral Health and obtained her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at UCSF School of Dentistry and was chief resident. She was also a Clinical Scholar at UCSF’s School of Global Health from 2008-2010. She has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the AAPHD leveret Award and an NIH funded COHORT Training Grant. Her key interests include childhood caries.
Andrea Yaley, DDS. Dentist
Dr. Yaley completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Western University of Health Science in 2014. While completing her degree, Dr. Yaley volunteered her time by providing comprehensive dental care to low-income patients through San Gabriel Valley Foundation for Dental Health, and Meet Every Need with Dignity (M.E.N.D.) Clinic, and Aids Project LA. Before joining the Ravenswood family, Dr. Yaley worked as an Associate Dentist for several esthetic dentistry practices in the Bay Area where she concentrated on restorative care, fixed and removable prosthetics, veneers, Invisalign, and implant restorations. She is excited to be here at Ravenswood!
Kathleen Yau, DDS. Dentist
Dr. Yau received her DDS degree in general dentistry from the University of California at San Francisco in 2009. While at school, she participated in a range of activities in addition to becoming a teaching assistant, including UCSF’s American Dental Education Association Outreach Committee, Children’s Health Hut, and UCSF’s Community Dental Clinic. She completed a Lutheran Medical Center residency at the Shasta Community Health Center in Redding, California in 2010, and practiced dentistry with several private groups as an Associate Dentist before joining the staff of Ravenswood Family Dentistry. She holds several professional affiliations, including membership in the California Dental Association and in the American Dental Association.
Chiung-Kwen Yen, DDS, MS. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Yen received his DDS degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in June 1983 , and completed his internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF in June 1983. Dr. Yen also holds an MS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and maintains many professional affiliations, including Member of the American Association for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association. Over the course of his career, Dr. Yen has published multiple papers on oral surgery. He currently practices dentistry for a private practice and works for Ravenswood Family Dentistry one Saturday per month to provide emergency oral surgery to RFD patients.
